Japanese Kanji
The Japanese writing system consists of three character sets different; Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. Kanji Japan consists of Chinese characters that were introduced in Japan in the fifth century Korea.
Kanji are basically ideograms, each character has its own individual meaning and corresponds to a word. By combining these letters, several words can be made. For example, the combination of electricity and means the car train. Before Japanese Kanji was introduced into Chinese characters, there had no writing system in place. While the adoption of these characters, the Japanese have not only introduce 'original characters pronunciations, but also between them related to mapping native Japanese words and their pronunciations.
Most kanji may be more pronounced in two ways, one Chinese (on yumi) and a Japanese (kun yomi) Thus, further complicating the Japanese language at large. Kanji are mainly used for writing nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs. However, as the Chinese, the Japanese language can also be written entirely in Kanji. grammatical endings and words that do not correspond to Kanji, two syllable-based scripts: Hiragana and title = "Katakana"> Katakana, each containing 46 syllables.
There are about ten thousand Chinese characters, or kanji, that have been used in Japanese writing. In 1981, Japan has been made easier to read and write by the Japanese government by introducing Joyo Kanji hyo, a list of Chinese characters for general use. Of these, 1945 and 166 additional regular characters special characters used only for the names of the people. Government documents, newspapers, books and other publications for non-staff use only Kanji.
Japanese children are expected to learn all the Joyo Kanji by the end of high school, but the kanji used in special publications or literature usually they need to know two or three thousand characters more.
The word is Japanese kanji for the Chinese word hanzi, which means "Han characters. Han refers to the Han Dynasty (206BC-220BC) and is used to call the Chinese. When the Japanese adopted Chinese characters writing language Japanese, they also took many Chinese words. You will be able to see that at least half of the vocabulary of Japanese was taken of the Chinese language. Japanese Kanji is used to represent the two words Sino-Japanese and native Japanese words that mean the same thing.
For example, the word mizu is water in Japanese native, while in Sino-Japanese water is sui. The two words are written with the same character. The word is known as the former kun yomi (Japanese reading) and the second is known as the on yomi (Chinese character).
